On Monday, September 1, bring your sign to the Labor Day Truck Parade!
The 50501 organization has called for a day of action for Labor Day, with the theme Workers over Billionaires.
In addition to coming together on Saturday for a separate Workers Deserve protest, we would like to respectfully hold signs along the Labor Day Truck Parade route.
While this administration continues to provide countless reasons to protest, we ask that signs are limited to the theme of Workers over Billionaires, in order to remain respectful of the parade and be united in our message.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 9:15am at the MillerKnoll facility in Zeeland, travel down Main Street, continue to 8th Street in Holland and arrive at the Civic Center.
Ideally, we should spread out along the route. Of course, it can be a lot of fun to protest in a group, but spacing ourselves along such a long route will be more impactful.
Please share this widely so that we can have a great turnout!
Here are some ideas for signs:
- Workers over billionaires!
- Honest work should equal a livable wage!
- Workers built this country, not billionaires!
- The billionaire agenda doesn’t serve working people!
- Why have 5 downtown Holland businesses announced closures this summer?
- We will miss Howard Miller!
- I support paid family leave for everyone in Michigan!
- Protect Medicare/Social Security!
